Doris E Youngman

After graduating from the University of South Florida, I began my career as a high school vocational teacher in Tampa, Florida. I worked closely with seniors who attended classes in the morning and held part-time jobs in the afternoon. My role was to help them transition into the workforce by finding suitable office or vocational positions. Throughout the school year, I visited each student at their workplace to ensure they were meeting their employer’s expectations and thriving on the job.

Unfortunately, when federal funding for vocational programs was discontinued, I found myself needing a new direction.

A close friend who worked as an Office Manager at an orthopedic group encouraged me to try something new. I joined her team and learned to code surgeries, handle billing, and secure approvals for surgical procedures. I remained in that field for 14 years and truly valued the experience. Still, I eventually felt it was time for a change.

Becoming a Medicare insurance agent came naturally. With my background in education, healthcare coordination, and client support, I found I was well-prepared to help others make informed decisions about their health coverage. For the past 13 years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding individuals through Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug, and Supplement plans—helping them feel secure and supported during times of health need.

As a licensed and trained independent agent, I’m contracted with multiple carriers in Florida and 16 other states. If you ever need assistance reviewing your options, I would be honored to help.
